Best Headphones For ASMR (Tingle Yourself To Sleep!)

What are the best headphones for ASMR?

Nothing below is like your traditional headphone.

All these headphones are for listening to ASMR during bedtime.

They aren’t best for general listening, although you can use them for that too. But you’d be much better off with a different pair as you find out what these headphones are.

I listen to ASMR every night to help me go to sleep (I’ll get into more detail on this in a second). And in this post, you’ll find out exactly which headphones I use to do it comfortably and easily, as well as other options for you to choose from.

Ready?

Before we get started though, you want to know which headphones are the WORST for ASMR/sleeping. Because if you go about using any headphone, you just might destroy your ears…

Headphones NOT For ASMR

The headphones you want to stay away from are earbuds and regular overhead headphones. Not only are these terrible to sleep in, but they can cause ear problems.

What ear problems?

Hearing (if you’re listening at a high volume), aches (as you press down on an earbud while sleeping), and worst of all, lots and lots of earwax buildup (which also causes hearing loss).

This isn’t much the case for overhead headphones however.

But the problem with them is obvious… You simply can’t fall asleep in them.

They’re large, bulky, and unless you’re sleeping as straight as possible like you’re in a coffin, you can’t use them.

Now if you’re thinking, “Well that pretty much eliminates all choices,” then you’re right!

But there are several options for you to still choose from. Here they are…

Best Headphones For ASMR

There are 3 headphones perfect for ASMR. Mainly because they solve all the problems just mentioned above. But not only that, these headphones were all designed for you to sleep comfortably in (even on your side).

Sound too good to be true?

Take a look at the first one…

#1: AcousticSheep SleepPhones

best headphones for asmr

These are what I use every night. All I do is wear them over my head like you would an ordinary headband, and connect them to my phone and play some of my favorite ASMR videos (I’ll show you what these are later).

SleepPhones are arguably the best headphones for ASMR.

It’s literally a headphone inside a headband. But these headphones are as flat as ever could be. They’re also padded themselves, in addition to the soft and cozy headband. So you can already imagine what it’s like sleeping with these on. They’re like an extra cushion against your pillow.

Plus, with the headband, the speakers lay close and flush beside your ear. Ensuring they stay in place, and that you hear every little sound that comes out of them.

SleepPhones come in many versions. I’ve written reviews for all of them (SleepPhones Classic, SleepPhones Wireless, SleepPhones Effortless).

Out of the three, I recommend the Wireless the most. For obvious reasons — they’re wireless!

#2: DubsLabs Bedphones

best headphones for listening to asmr

Bedphones are often compared to SleepPhones (click here to see them compared). This is because they’re both great headphones for ASMR/sleeping. But I still love SleepPhones more. Why?

Bedphones’ fit depends on your ear shape and size.

The way these work is they’re fully-adjustable to bend and twist and hook onto the back of your ear. With their super flat padded speaker (1/4in thick) design, these almost vanish between your ear and pillow when you go to sleep.

However, the downside is they can get out of place. Unlike the SleepPhones which are protected inside a headband, these are not. They’re like any earphone, except Bedphones lay flat against (not in) your ear.

Bedphones also come in several versions which I’ve reviewed all in this post.

They have a Gen 3.5 version (their newest and improved Bedphones), and a Wireless option. And of course, wireless is always the way to go when listening to ASMR in bed.

#3: CozyPhones

best headphones for sleepAt first glance, CozyPhones look a lot like SleepPhones. And they do. These are pretty much your budget option of them. But don’t think these are a bad headphone just because they’re cheaper…

These do one job and they do it well. And that’s to allow you to listen to music comfortably in your sleep.

Like all the headphones above, CozyPhones utilize the flat speaker design. In fact, when you remove them out of the headband, they look very similar to Bedphones. Listening to ASMR with these are almost a dream come true.

But here’s the problem… They don’t offer a wireless option.

And like I said earlier, cords are a nuisance in bed. They get tangled up, risk breaking, and “chain” you to the bed (you can’t move freely).

But again, at the price these go for, they’re almost a risk-free buy.

CozyPhones have two designs — Original (Get On Amazon) and Contour (Get On Amazon)

The difference is the material of the headband. The Original is made of fleece, and the Contour is made of a mesh lining for keeping cool at night.

Important Note

You now know the best headphones for ASMR. But here’s an important note…

These headphones — SleepPhones, Bedphones, CozyPhones — aren’t noise-cancelling.

If they were, you’d actually be in trouble. Because if a fire set off in your house, you won’t be able to hear the alarm. Or if a burglar broke in, you wouldn’t know either.

Now this doesn’t mean the sound quality is poor. They’re like your average earphone. Again, you shouldn’t expect these to be superb in audio anyways. These only serve to let you sleep with headphones on — while providing the best sound possible.

What ASMR To Listen To

So you got your new pair of headphones for ASMR and want to test them out. What should you listen to?

This all varies from person to person.

Chances are, if you’re reading this, you already know what videos give you the most tingles. If so, just stick to what works. But if not, here’s an ASMR video you might want to try with your new headphones.

This will help you find what triggers you the most.

For me, I have a pretty uncommon ASMR trigger. And it really gets me every time. What is it?

A hair dryer.

Here’s a video:

Listening to this doesn’t just give me the tingles. It fills me with warmth and coziness, exactly what I’m looking for when trying to fall asleep.

Final Words

To truly enjoy ASMR, you need a good pair of headphones. But to truly enjoy ASMR for sleeping, you need one of the headphones above.

If you’ve never tried them, you’re missing out on an incredible amount of tingles.

Most likely, you’ve seen or heard them before. They’re mentioned a lot when it comes to ASMR. And it’s no coincidence. SleepPhones, Bedphones, and CozyPhones are the best headphones for ASMR, music, audiobooks, white noise, and anything else for sleeping.

So don’t waste another second…

Make sure to grab a pair today, and when you get yours, see for yourself how wonderful they are for sleep.
